Chief Priest

Appears in Aozukin (The Blue Hood). He is the chief priest of a temple in the mountains, near a village that's tormented by a demon. As a child, he was surrendered to the temple by his parents, who claimed that he "sowed the seeds of discord" at home. He vowed to devote his life to the Buddha, but faltered when laying eyes on a beautiful chigo (servant boy used for sex) whom he named Byakoumaru. When the boy succumbed to illness, the priest refused to accept it and spent many days with the body; the villagers had heard that the Priest was caught eating the flesh of the corpse, having turned into a demon.
